Felix Esterl

He was born in Klagenfurt in 1894, where he attended high school together with Herbert Boeckl. Studied architecture in Padua and Zurich while studying traveling to Paris, Berlin and Dresden.

After military service first back in Zurich, then 1920 in Rome, where he attended a private painting school. Between 1921 and 1925 he owns a studio in Vienna, then returns to Klagenfurt. Friendship with Boeckl and Clementschitsch, of which he also draws artistic influences.

Felix Esterl died in 1931 of a sudden illness. In 1932 he was exhibited in the Klagenfurt Künstlerhaus, was also represented at several collective exhibitions, ia. at the Biennale in Venice in 1934, regularly in the exhibitions in Klagenfurt, as most recently at the major national exhibition “Hermits – Cosmopolitans” 2004.
