Peter Krawagna

Born in 1937 in Klagenfurt, grew up in Velden and in 1954 went to the art school in Linz.

From 1958 to 1961 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, among others with Herbert Boeckl. From the mid-sixties numerous exhibitions and participation in art fairs. Study trips to the Mediterranean countries, to Africa and to India – as a result picture cycles with landscapes and moods from the traveled regions.

Peter Krawagna lives and works in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee.

In his prudent color compositions one recognizes again and again the effort to bring a landscape motif to the edge of abstraction – a process which has been appropriated by several contemporary artists in the succession of Boeckl.
